Safeguarding

St Gabriel’s Church is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.

Safeguarding is an important part of our faith, our discipleship, and our life together as a church. We aim to make sure our church is a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

The parish safeguarding policy can be found at the link below. It is reviewed by the PCC every year and was last reviewed in July 2024.

St. Gabriel's Safeguarding Policy

We follow the House of Bishop’s policy document 'Promoting a Safer Church'' and have our own Deputy Parish Safeguarding Officer, and are currently recruiting a new Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO).

If you have any safeguarding concerns to do with our church, please contact Revd Emma: st.gabriels.revparker@gmail.com

Alternatively, you can contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser, Beth Miller: 07968034075 / beth.miller@durham.anglican.org

The Diocese of Durham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information.

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
